Modern communicators need to be trained to be proficient in the use of social media. The use of social media calls for creativity in communications to keep users interested. It is beneficial to create social media pages that will invite users to read the information posted on the specific social media outlet.

Instagram is a place where communicators can post and share photos with fellow users. Not only is this an effective way to pass on news, but pictures also sometimes make a greater impact than just words. Use of Twitter can also be thought provoking for many readers. Short, abbreviated statements and comments can invite comments from others and encourage conversations. Social media is now a primary source of news and information and therefore, journalists would benefit from specialized training in the use of social media for posting news stories and current events.
